real-foodWhen it comes to nutrition, we believe that, although everyone is different and there needs to be some amount of individualizing, we ALL need to follow some basic rules when it comes to food. These rules are summed up well by the mantra established by CrossFit.com: Eat meat, vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, a little starch, and no sugar. In other words, EAT REAL FOOD. Food that “remembers where it came from”. Food that looks similar to what it looked like in it’s natural state. This is the type of food we have been designed to not just live off of, but thrive off of. It is our belief that the Standard American Diet has caused our country to become the most overweight, sick country in the developed world.

Nutritional counseling is included with every CrossFit Artis membership. We offer a Facebook group, CFA Athlete Exchange, where our members can post questions about nutrition and have them quickly answered, as well as post recipes, ideas, thoughts, and inspiration. We post any current nutrition “challenges” and related information on this FB page as well.
